This is a question we as teachers have all the time. Who better to bring on that an award winning middle school writer, Margot! Margot Kleinpeter is twelve years old and attends Kamiakin Middle School, in Kirkland, Washington. Her original short story, Butterflies, recently won Outstanding Interpretation in the literature category for her school district’s Reflections competition. In her story, she talks about the butterflies students get when teachers use cold calling and defer to the louder students.
